We are on the Eastern coast of the Istrian peninsula. It is less commercially developed, but known for its lovely white pebble bays surrounded by pine trees.
The village of Drenje is small and consists of a lower part, along the main road and an upper part, where the house is located. The marked hiking trail starts steeply uphill from the village and connects to the Labin - Skitaca (altitude 634 m) mountain trail.
You can also walk downhill and explore some of those pebble beaches that can be reached only on foot. Otherwise drive 5 minutes to the beach in Ravni where there is a little seasonal grocery store and a couple of restaurants. There is a seasonal restaurant in the lower part of Drenje too, accessible on foot. Further beaches can be found in St.Marina, where there is the nearest supermarket and a diving centre. Rabac is the nearest resort and it has hotels, restaurants, sports activities, nightlife etc. Labin is the nearest town with larger supermarkets, a food market, restaurants, cafes, chemists etc.
